Founder and Managing Director of Kimnastics, Kimberly Gantt has worked in the Maryland education system for the past 20 years. Prior to launching Kimnastics, she was a former STEM Specialist for the Maryland State Department of Education, where she was tasked with creating resources, providing professional development, and supporting teachers and administrators. In addition, she allocated funding to the lead educational agencies throughout the State of Maryland to support the implementation of S.T.E.M education.

 

Early on in her career as educator and leader, Kimberly served as a Center Director for a Huntington Learning Center, taught 2nd and 3rd grade in the private school sector, and 2nd, 4th and 5th grade in the public-school sector. During her private and public school tenure, she taught 3rd and 5th grade gifted and talented mathematics program for several years and implemented an after-school cheerleading and dance program.

 

Kimberly is a highly qualified educator, certified in the State of Maryland. She has an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Psychology from Cortland State University. She has a master’s degree from Notre Dame of Maryland University in Leadership in Teaching Mathematics.

 

Kimberly was also a competitive gymnast, and dancer, training in ballet, tap, acrobatics, lyric, and jazz, and competing levels 7, 9, and 10. She was the 1992 Level 7 New York State Champion, a 1994 competitor and medalist in the Empire State games for gymnastics, and a member of the 1996 Level 9 Regional Championship team in Georgia.

 

Additionally, she had the privilege of being a part of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics’ gymnastics exhibition team. She later competed as a collegiate gymnast at Cortland State University where she was part of the 2000 and 2002 NCGA Championship Team.

 

This experience has led to a prestigious coaching career where she went on to choreograph a collection of floor routines for gymnasts that have competed and won State Championships.

 

With over 32 years of mentoring and coaching experience- including working with students as young as 18 months through adulthood, Kimberly Gantt has been recognized throughout the industry and received numerous awards.
